Días atrás se llevó a cabo la 25° Sesión del Consejo de Administración del PNUMA y el Foro Mundial Ministerial sobre Medio Ambiente (GC-25 / GMEF, por sus siglas en inglés) y la 10° Sesión del Foro Mundial de la Sociedad Civil (GCSF-10, por sus siglas en inglés). Dichos eventos ocurrieron en Nairobi (Kenia). Allí estuvo Cecilia Iglesias (Presidente de la Asociación Civil Red Ambiental y Coordinadora Regional del GEO Juvenil Mercosur) representando la región de América Latina y el Caribe.

Lasted days happened the 25th Session of the Governing Council /Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC-25/GMEF) and the 10th Session of the Global Civil Society Forum (GCSF-10) in Nairobi (Kenya). There was Cecilia Iglesias (President of Asociación Civil Red Ambiental and GEO for Youth in Mercosur's Coordinator) representating the Latin America & Caribbean region.

En estos días se está realizando la Reunión Mundial de Jóvenes 2009, en Nairobi (Kenia).
En esta reunión participan nuestros TYACs (Handy Acosta Cuellar y Paulina Monforte) y otros jóvenes líderes de la región. Por América Latina y el Caribe están participando Yaguili Álvarez representando a la Juventud Indígena (Panamá) y Daniel Proaño (GEO Juvenil y TUNZA Ecuador).

In these days is taking place the Meeting: Global Yotuh Gathering 2009, in Nairobi (Kenya).
In this meeting are participating our TYACs, Handy Acosta Cuellar and Paulina Monforte, and others young leaders from our regions. Conferencia Internacional TUNZA para Niños: Últimos días para aplicar!

Nacho Ordoñez (Argentina) durante la última Conferencia Internacional TUNZA para Niños llevada a cabo en Noruega.


Tienes tiempo hasta el 28 de febrero para aplicar para la Conferencia Internacional TUNZA para Niños. En este artículo conoce la experiencia de Nacho, un niño argentino que participó en la anterior Conferencia.

Quedan pocos días para que los niños puedan aplicar a la Conferencia Internacional TUNZA para Niños que se desarrollará en Corea del Sur el presente año. Es el deseo de la Oficina Regional para América Latina del Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (ORPALC/PNUMA) recibir la mayor cantidad de postulaciones de niños de toda la región. Es que se trata del evento ambiental de mayor trascendencia mundial para niños.

Juan Ignacio Ordoñez, "Nacho" como lo llaman sus amigos, es de Argentina y con tan solo 11 años fue seleccionado por el PNUMA el año pasado para participar de la Conferencia Internacional TUNZA para Niños que se llevó a cabo en Noruega y reunió a unas mil personas entre niños y acompañantes. Vivió una experiencia maravillosa y su compromiso ambiental resultó ampliamente fortalecido. Desde entonces Nacho se ha convertido en un gran promotor de la estrategia TUNZA en su país y será, sin duda, un gran referente ambiental en el futuro.

TUNZA INTERNATIONAL YOUTH CONFERENCE ON THE ENVIRONMENT
ORGANISED BY THE UNITED NATIONS ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMME IN COOPERATION WITH THE UNEP COMMITTEE FOR THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

Theme: “CLIMATE CHANGE: OUR CHALLENGE”
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea will be organizing its Tunza International Youth Conference on the Environment, from 21 to 26 August 2009.
It will bring together 200 youth, to learn about the environment through plenary sessions, workshops and field trips.
The Conference will be in three segments, Global townhall meeting on 21 August 2009, Regional Meetings from 22 to 23 August 2009 and Conference from 24 to 26 August 2009. The daily themes include Climate change: Limiting the FootPrint, Youth and Green Jobs, Disasters and Conflicts and their Impact on the Environment and Sustainable Lifestyles.

El Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente (PNUMA) en colaboración con el Comité Nacional del PNUMA de la República de Corea serán los organizadores de la Conferencia Internacional de la Jóvenes TUNZA sobre el Medio Ambiente, del 21 al 26 de agosto de 2009. Este evento reunirá a 200 jóvenes, para aprender sobre el medio ambiente a través de sesiones plenarias, talleres y giras de campo. La Conferencia se enfocará en tres segmentos, Asamblea Global el 21 de agosto de 2009, las reuniones regionales del 22 al 23 de agosto de 2009 y Conferencia del 24 al 26 de agosto de 2009. Los temas diarios incluyen, El Cambio Climático: La limitación de la huella ecológica, los jóvenes y los empleos verdes, desastres y conflictos y sus efectos sobre el medio ambiente y los estilos de vida sostenibles.

February 28: New Deadline for the Application to 2009 ICC


2009 ICC - TUNZA International Children’s Conference on the Environment
The United Nations Environment Programme in cooperation with UNEP National Committee for the Republic of Korea will be hosting the 2009 TUNZA International Children’s Conference on the Environment in Daejeon, Korea from the 17 to 21 August 2009. The Conference whose theme will be Climate Change: Our Challenge will collectively bring together about 400 participants (aged 10 to 14) from over 100 countries.


The daily themes will include:
Climate change and its effect on bio-diversity
Climate change and young people
Water
Sustainable lifestyle


The delegates will be introduced to the new Tunza Strategy (2009-2014), and will discuss their role in the implementation of the Strategy. The delegates will also give suggestions on the themes for the 2010 International Children’s Conference on the Environment. The four-day Conference will culminate in resolutions on climate change to be presented to the Children’s Climate Forum in Copenhagen, Denmark in December 2009.

28 de Febrero: Nueva fecha límite para aplicar a la ICC 2009


2009 ICC- Conferencia Internacional de Niños TUNZA sobre el Medio Ambiente
El Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Medio Ambiente en cooperación con el Comité Nacional del PNUMA en la República de Corea serán los anfitriones Conferencia Internacional de Niños TUNZA sobre el Medio Ambiente 2009 en Daejeon, Corea del 17 al 21 de agosto de 2009. La Conferencia, cuyo tema será el Cambio Climático: Nuestro desafío colectivo reunirá a cerca de 400 participantes (de 10 a 14 años) de más de 100 países.


Los temas diarios de la Conferencia incluirán:


• El cambio climático y sus efectos sobre la biodiversidad


• El cambio climático y los jóvenes


• Agua


• Estilo de vida sostenible


A los participantes se les presentará la nueva Estrategia TUNZA (2009-2014), y discutirán su papel en la implementación de la Estrategia. Los delegados también darán sus sugerencias sobre los temas para el la Conferencia Internacional de los Niños sobre el Medio Ambiente 2010.
La conferencia -de cuatro días- culminará con las resoluciones sobre el cambio climático que se presentarán en el Foro Climático de Niños a realizarse en diciembre de 2009 en Copenhague, Dinamarca.
