¡Felicitaciones Caribbean Youth Environment Network (CYEN)!
1° de noviembre 2008, Grande-Anse, Granada. Después de cinco años de trabajo, la culminación de la participación de más de 150 jóvenes de catorce países, el GEO Juvenil Caribe “¡Una visión para el Cambio!” fue lanzado. Elizabeth y Simón estuvieron presentes para el evento en Grenada donde también tomaban lugar los talleres subregionales TUNZA y GEO Juvenil Caribe.
Los equipos nacionales están organizando actualmente lanzamientos nacionales para el 3 de diciembre.

The night of the launch, after the Grenada National Anthem, the Master of Ceremonies (Simon Keith, Grenada) introduced Elizabeth Osorio who spoke about UNEP’s involvement in the GEO for Youth in the Caribbean and projected a two minute long video of Mara Murillo, the executive director of of UNEP’s regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean. The second speaker was Dedra Bartlett, CYEN’s regional Chairperson and participant in the editorial team of the GEO for Youth in the Caribbean. Dedra spoke about the process and what the launch of a GEO for Youth report meant to CYEN and to the Caribbean Islands. Lastly, Natalie Sandy - Youth Officer Ministry of Youth Empowerment of Grenada acted as government representative and shared her joy in seeing the young people of the Caribbean joining their efforts to help the Caribbean countries achieve a sustainable lifestyle. Then, while Kerryann Branford facilitated this part, Mr. Devon Roché -Youth Parliamentary Representative for Grenada handed the CYEN Award to Andrew Simmons (St. Vincents and the Grenadines), Aldrin Calixte (Haiti) Nintus Magre (St. Lucia) and the CYEN Grenada Team. The launch ended with the distribution of the reports accompanied by a cocktail.
The national teams are currently organizing national launches for December 3rd.
